The Northampton County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Chambers located at 16404 Courthouse Road in Eastville, Virginia, to conduct public hearings on the following matters:

Zoning Map Amendment 2023-01: Dimitri Hionis has applied for a Zoning Map Amendment to rezone 3.15 acres of a parcel from MHP (Mobile Home Park) to H/R (Hamlet/Residential) and 2.74 acres of the same parcel from A/RB (Agriculture/Rural Business) to H/R (Hamlet/Residential) to construct single family residence homes. The property is located at 4314 Cedar Grove Drive in Cape Charles, Virginia, and is further described as Tax Map 112-A-94.

Minor Special Use Permit 2024-01: Thomas and Kelly Rowe are applying for a minor special use permit to construct an accessory dwelling unit. The property is located at 3018 Bowden Landing in Cape Charles and is further described as Tax Map 84-8-29.

Zoning Text Amendment 2024-02: The Board of Supervisors of Northampton County is proposing a Zoning Text Amendment to revise the sections which pertain to Intent & Purpose in the 2000 and 2016 Zoning Ordinances.

Zoning Text Amendment 2024-03: The Planning Commission of Northampton County is proposing a Zoning Text Amendment to amend Sections 154.2.003, 154.2.108 and 154.2.126 of the 2016 Zoning Ordinance to allow for the conversion of certain existing buildings to housing units that are affordable by allowing for an increase in the number of units that may be created.


The applications are open to public inspection in the County Administration Office, 16404 Courthouse Road, Eastville, VA, and can be viewed electronically at https://go.boarddocs.com/va/northco/Board.nsf/Public.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING


The Northampton County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing commencing at 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 16404 Courthouse Road, Eastville, Virginia, to afford interested parties the opportunity to be heard or present written comments regarding the following ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE TO READOPT AND REENACT THE NORTHAMPTON COUNTY CODE TITLE XV LAND USAGE, CHAPTER 153 EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL, IN ORDER TO COMPLY WITH THE STATE’S MODEL ORDINANCE

The purpose of this ordinance is to bring the County’s ordinance into compliance with the State’s Model Ordinance.

A copy of the proposed ordinance is available for public review at the County Administrator’s Office, Eastville, Virginia, during normal business hours.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING


The Northampton County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 16404 Courthouse Road, Eastville, Virginia, to receive public comment on the following ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE A SUBDIVISION PLAT ENTITLED,
“Subdivision of Property of LEE AVE LLC, A Virginia Limited Liability Company Located Near CEDAR GROVE” dated December 8, 2023 by Craig P. Crockett L.S. and recorded in the Clerk’s Office of the Circuit Court of Northampton County, Virginia as Instrument 230002840


The purpose of this ordinance is to vacate the subdivision plat due to a provision in the Northampton County Subdivision Code § 156.097(B) that disallows new lots being created that directly access Seaside Road.

This proposed ordinance is available for review at the County Administrator's office, 16404 Courthouse Road, Eastville, Virginia, during normal business hours. Anyone interested in the above matter should attend the public hearing to express their views.
